Cruising Cat for a Couple (was Re: PDQ 34)
Sat, Nov 19, 2005 3:28 PM
I have looked at many builder websites, but have not yet found even a remote fit for our wants. Basically, we would like to find a boat for economical cruising with a reasonable (17-20 mph) top speed.

Fw: Maine Cat P-38 hits 25 knots
Sat, Nov 10, 2007 9:51 PM
We are looking for 27 knots as our real top end. Even with these props, we achieved a combined fuel burn of 4.9 gallons per hour at 15 knots. Not bad for a 11.4 ton vessel. Tomorrow the props come off and we will be adding a number 5 cup to the blades to increase the engine loading.
