TWL: Genset autostart
Sun, Nov 24, 2002 5:44 PM
My 8kw Onan the boat had automatic shut down provisions for water temp and low oil so I am not too bothered about that side of the coin. I have tried calling Onan without much success. Surely there must be a gadget that can sense low battery voltage and automatically kick in the preheat button for about 15 seconds then the start button?

Re: [time-nuts] USB Low Cost GPS Timing Receiver

OK, after dropping the amount of coin on the mount, scope, and camera, (my guess in the neighborhood of $40,000 US) a few hundred bucks for a timing solution shouldn't be too bad. Would an external NTP box, perhaps a Soekris Net4501 driven by a Thunderbolt or another GPS receiver with PPS work?

Analog watch modules ( so a 32 KHz crystal driving a stepper that moved hands) could run for a year on the coin cell battery in the watch back in the 1970’s. The LCD versions …. not so much.

PINTAILS Despite heavy clouds rolling in off the Sound in the morning, strong SW winds and about a 20-minute rain storm, we had a pretty nice Merlin flight. CTWA - 10 days
Thu, Sep 27, 2012 1:13 AM
I know warblers stop to, "load up", for a few days, when migrating; but, is 10 days too long? By the way, Jonah Cohen, it was me you met tonight at the marsh, sorry for not introducing myself, I can be a birdbrain sometimes (pun intended). I have seen a Blackpoll Warbler for several days now, including tonight.
