To answer a few questions some other cruisers had: >From Peoria IL to Mobile AL - 162 miles on the Illinois River, 218 on the Mississippi R., 50 miles on the Ohio R., 190 miles on the Tennessee R., and 450 statute miles on the Tenn-Tom Waterway to Mobile. 1070 miles total.

All I know is what I read in the papers!!! That's not quite true. I also race sailboats and have some appreciation for the circumstances. This was not just any race. This was the 57th annual regatta spanning two weekends with lots of social happenings. How do I know?

The beauty of it all is the G.E. service they come to Marina's. The Ice maker did quit two years ago but I Had a replacement kit from the local distributor in Mobile, Al. It took 20 minutes to replace it and I was back in business. And if the unit goes south I can have a new One onboard from a big box store before it thaws out!
