Re: [time-nuts] 10 MHz reference switching
Mon, Mar 8, 2010 11:43 PM
I designed bandwidth-limited (30 MHz) ADA4899-1 opamp circuits to buffer the 10 MHz reference, with theoretical noise of less than 3 nV/rtHz. Oscillator noise is about -155 dBc/rtHz from 1 KHz to 10 KHz, and -160 dBc/rtHz from 10 KHz to 100 KHz.

The simplest way I can think of is the following: Use a 74LV8154 to divide the 10MHz down to 152.587890625Hz. Use the capture timer unit of the uC to measure the phase of the pulse.

It also needs to pass 10 MHz. Don’t have a phone in sight? How about WiFi, Bluetooth, and RF based remote controls …. >> >> Why is it a threat? The RF comes back into your amp and changes bias levels / inter modulates with the 10 MHz. Either way, your 10 MHz moves around a bit. Is this purely theoretical? Nope, it happens far more often than you’d think.

It's called "Buoy 10" fishing, buoy 10 being the fisheries dividing line between the river and the ocean fisheries. As a result of this recreational Salmon fishery a certain madness overtakes small-boat recreational fisherman there.
