Re: Advice on products that will deter bird collisions

I've looked at American Bird Conservancy's website, and am considering purchasing ABC BirdTape 2" Squares from Bird Friendly, which was one of the links on that website. Any opinions on that product or other recommendations?

Supports AIS features. Currently does not support Autopilot or Radar. Supports import of routes in .gpx format (via iTunes file transfer), so if as I do, you have a portfolio of routs in Coastal Explorer, you can import all of those routes into SEAiq and simply use them there.

Re: [CT Birds] Where Have They Gone?

Could there be a major die-off that happened, or was it truly a poor breeding season considering all the rain? I guess we should stock up on feeder food to support those who survived to try to keep them healthy through the lean winter months.

RE: TWL: maintenance and equipment failure

In other words, if you live by the sword, you die by it. Become dependent on these fancy tricks and when they fail or contribute to the problem, then that's what gets you killed. There is a point of diminishing returns where the increasing complexity of the system does not contribute to increased safety.

Add to that the excellent support provided by American Diesel and you have a package that allows you to cruise world wide with confidence. John Tegtmeyer At 09:53 PM 3/12/2004 -0500, you wrote: >Marin, > >Thank you for your insights.

So far the accident statistics do not support the argument that these aids or their removal has changed anything concerning the number of loss of life. Canada does not have a Homeland Defense department so this aspect has no bearing on the process. Cost of maintenance and tax payers demands for fiscal belt tightening is the main driving force.

I recently had to develop a comparable clock discipline subsystem for a radio that was being refitted with digital technologies and that would be expected to operate with or without GPS and support ranges in excess of 30 km. Loads of fun. Thanks again for the quick response!
