Screech Owl -

On the other side of the coin, I once witnessed a wounded Im Coopers hawk, trying to get at my chickens from the ground, attacked by a flock of Crows - killed, and then, not to waste - eaten. As cruel as we might think it, this is survival, or not, in the daily workings of nature.

TWL: Re: Keel Coolers
Sat, Nov 11, 2000 4:31 PM
I'm no authority on the matter but I've always thought of keel cooling and dry exhaust as being two sides of the same coin. The idea is to eliminate as many holes in the hull as possible and to minimize your dependence on raw water with all its potential problems.

We each are talking about >> two sides of the same coin. The real world is a messy place. Analysis >> often takes a back seat to the “fun of doing something”. That’s not >> to say it should though … >> > > And sometimes, the analysis is the fun part.

Re: TWL: Purchasing new boats

Engine room lighting is very good and so is access to all engine room equipment. The fuel system on the older boats used standpipes and was very reliable and easy to use. The newer system is ok. The boat is heavy and feels very secure in a big sea. It is hard to find things to fault. But they are not perfect.
