Someone, someplace, had to give the original time 'hack', no? I found I could talk about all the wonderfullness of GPSDOs, rubidiums, ocxo's and the like but couldn't answer that simple question with much more depth than 'NIST does it for the US' or 'you pull it off of the GPS'. Thanks, Bob

A fun hack would be to hook up the 63,8976 MHz OCXO in replacement of the 60 MHz and then re-adjusting the DDS to 2.35645 MHz, as the 107s overtone of the OCXO minus the new DDS frequency hits the Rb resonance. Cheers, Magnus

(I could generate IRIG from a GPS receiver using a microcontroller and feed that in, but that seems like too much of a hack.) Anyone have a TS2100 with GPS? The make/model of the GPS receiver used would be a big help. Ideally I'd love to see a few high-res pictures. -ch

This works great and is a quick hack. BUT.... If there are dependencies, variables and so on it is not the best way. Is there an easy way to draw one (!) path and make it afterwards a bit "thicker" ? Example: I cannot rotate A=([-5,0]) : B([5,0]), because this is not an geometric figure, only a line.

So where is it practical to hack for better results and when do you use some not -as -wonderful regulator chips that come in a much easier to use dip package for a power supply upgrade? Regards, Perrier
