Turbochargers do not normally die suddenly. I am willing to assume that I will have sufficient warning of an impending failure to find a safe place to change it out. Even if I am planning to pay someone to change it out, in really remote places, it would pay you to have a spare on hand.

There are a number of anecdotes of people abandoning perfectly seaworthy boats to die in life rafts. And yes Arild I do boat in the warm places..like the Straits of Georgia, Seattle, and the open Pacific...and we all know how warm that tropical climate is compared to the cold north. Jim >

Hi everyone, Official confirmation from the Ettus Support guys: Yep, the LF boards don't have any adjustable gain, but a unity gain Opamp; that's why setting the gain has no effect.

They all will eventually die as the las of the VFD displays wear out. At that point, hopefully we all will be running them via serial or GPIB and not even notice the issue.
