Re: [CT Birds] Massive seabird die off on the west coast

lankton like krill, etc. BUT....researchers say it "could" be the result of a successful breeding season, leading to too many young birds competing for food. Unusually violent storms might be pushing the birds into areas they're not used to or preventing them from foraging. I am sure there are many reasons that birds suffer this awful fate, but we can't always jump on the global warming train. Nothing has been proved yet, just speculated. The only outstanding issue with the website is the data collection. The library I used for the U-blox UBX protocol frankly sucks, and was a major source of issues. As such, messages are occasionally dropped and lost. I would highly recommend picking receivers that have well tested and supported libraries so you do not run into this issue.

FCC to Rule on Lighting Towers for Migratory Birds
Thu, Apr 5, 2007 2:21 AM
American Bird Conservancy (ABC), which has led the campaign to make towers safer for birds, is supporting the use of lighting technologies that reduce attraction of the birds to the towers. *Please editorialize in support of the FCC's proposed rulemaking to put an end to a problem that is causing avoidable harm to millions of birds each year.

To let people die when they could've been helped is just something most people couldn't do, and I suspect that would include you. Frank
