I had sent a letter to my legislators in CT regarding banning Anticoagulant Rodenticides. These poisons greatly affect nontarget species because the mice and rats go outside to die and are eaten by Raptors, foxes, coyotes and others who also die. If you look at the below email thread you will see my letter, his response and ways to submit your own testimony/comments. Please help if you can. Chuck, please delete this if not allowed.
I got the below from Senator Needleman. He provided a link to submit testimony on State Bill SB -102 that is being developed in the Environmental Committee. Here is a link to the bill and the persons supporting it.

Hi James,
Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding second generation rodenticide, I appreciate hearing your perspective as a member of the Audubon Society. For reference, this concept is included within pSB-102. I understand your concerns on the impact that rodenticides have had on our ecosystem and I would be happy to consider your thoughts should I have the opportunity to vote on this legislation in the state senate.
As you may know, I do not serve on the Environment where this proposal currently resides, however members of the public are able to submit testimony on these proposals/ bills if they would like. This proposal has not been scheduled for a public hearing just yet, but the portal to submit testimony can be found here.
Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with, thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Norm

Subject: Banning Anticoagulant Rodenticides
Message: I am a volunteer guide for The Connecticut Audubon Society. Our mission is to conserve and protect wildlife and natural productive habitat. Bird species are declining pretty much across the board for many reasons.
Hawks, Owls and even Vultures, fox and coyote are being sickened and killed by prey they capture that have consumed Anticoagulant Rodenticide Poisons, which include both First and Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides. It seems daily that raptor rehabilitation facilities in CT are admitting these non targeted victims to a poor choice method of rodent control. Poisons are not going to only affect the rodent, but anything that eats that bait will succumb to the same inhumane death process. Death by excessive bleeding internally and even externally from minor injuries. Until the lungs fill up with blood and the victim drowns in its own blood or it goes into cardiovascular shock.
One of the problems with the first generation products has been that the rats develop resistance to it and it no longer kills them. So the second generation products are even more lethal. On behalf of the Connecticut residents who are concerned about the welfare of our wildlife, there MUST be stronger regulation, enforcement or even banning of the commercial use of this rodenticide.
