Re: TWL: Things I can't live without

The reason she is chief engineer is because she has control over the captain - she tells me whether the engines should start or not and of course, once she gives her okay, after that it's easy - all I have to do is steer. And that is the thing I can't live without! .

This alone will add significant > longevity to the life of the top. I bought a sailmakers sewing machine from Sailrite a few years ago. The thread on a Sunbrella cover that went around the railing on rear of flybridge area had begun to wear allowing some of the seams to come loose. It was a fairly simple job; just resew the seams.

More on the weird stuff at the top of messages

The two lines that are being added to the top of time-nuts messages are coming from some sort of interaction between four separate parts of the mail handling system here; I did a system software update yesterday and something broke.

Just follow the instructions for making sure antifreeze makes it through ALL the plumbing, valves and pumps and be done with it. However, fwiw, the pump in your system should be above the tank, which would make it a much shorter route from the discharge at the top of the tank TO the pump and also make it a downhill run from the pump to the thru-hull.
