I recently purchased a Garmin 215D chart plotter and at first look it's a pretty wonderful device. Osprey also has an old SeaTek Loran that works well. However, the interface and functionality are so poor (relative to the Garmin) that I'm dumping it. I have a small handheld aircraft GPS that can serve as backup. That said, I'm hoping that the Loran system continues as I have a decent database Loran in my airplane that I'd like to continue using.
