A SONG SPARROW was seen near the gate on 10 Jan. Finally a single RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD and COMMON GRACKLE continue to sporadically visit the Birdhouse Nature Store feeders just outside the gate. Directions: Presqu’ile Provincial Park is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario, just south of the town of Brighton.

Even using these other fabs leaves almost 50 mil short of the original A4 thickness. Maybe the connector can make up the 50 mil shortfall? If this is just a 2-sided board, you could split the layers onto two circuit boards with thicknesses that come close to the original A4 board. These boards would have to be epoxied together by the end user.

Two old sayings that really ring true for me are: The size of the boat is in direct relation to the amount of fun had on it. That's right, the smaller the boat, the more fun. Bigger is not always better, with a fifty footer, you better have a big bank account just for the bottom paint, nevermind all the complicated systems. I lived on a 25 footer for a summer, (granted, I was alone and it WAS summer) and got along fine. I think a 36 to 40 is more realistic for a permanent live a board. But anything bigger than that and I wonder how often you would leave the dock? I think some people could be happy never leaving the dock. Heck, I know people that have never left Great South Bay on Long Island, NY there whole life. But not me, I need to cruise, I want to see whats around the next headland. Ron

Re: Where are You?

On our last trip in 1996 from California to Florida, we saw a Defever 44 and an Island trader 40 which made the trip. There was about a 55 foot Sutton?? design in Steel who we have kept in touch with. Since we were going fast I think that we saw most of the boats in route that year. I suspect that many are frightened off by the weather off S. Mexico and C. America. In 1983 we saw only one "Ida Z" a 55' Bill Garden design. Now that Central America is "open" it is much easier to do this run. Bob Austin thataway@aol.com

I have always painted my fiberglass decks with 2 part Sterling L P applied with a roller and the first coat with the medium size micro spheres. However this weekend I was aboard the Navy's lattest assult carrier. Her decks have a wonderful rubberized material that looks like it was rolled on. Bob Austin thataway@aol.com
