Re: TWL: Battery Trouble
Sun, Jul 22, 2001 12:58 PM
I have just replaced two Interstate deep cycle size 27 batteries because I too had them boil dry and nothing seemed to help - now if I had heard of Paul Browne's "Snake Oil" before, I might have tried it. Perhaps you would do the deed and then let us all know. George of Scaramouche

"Ah ha", I though, "I'll use T&T messages" (the naughty word I searched for was Volvo... I worked for several years as a Volvo mechanic and let me tell you I used some real naughty words then!). And it worked pretty well, too, except I made a small mistake in the setup and so a bunch of you have received error messages.

Re: T&T: POWERTWIST BELTS

I solved this by driving both alternators of of a single pulley but with the belts running about 180 degrees from each other. A few other things I will share: 1) When I was looking at alternators I had the chance to visit Ample Power and chat with the owner, David Smead. This guy is a serious 12-volt geek (and coming from me that is a real compliment).

I only use it on exposed metal on the boat and the area where the cradle pads were because by launch-time I invariably forget where I keep the leftover bottom paint I also use it to soften my calloused feet but that's another story... Ciao - George
