successfully) on a steel boat we can put the magnetic compass at the top of t
he mast, put the rate stabilizer in the wheelhouse, and have a rock-solid com
pass signal free of interference from the hull.

Single RED-NECKED GREBES were noted on 22 and 26 Apr.
Herons were better represented with four species reported this week. Looking with a scope from Beach 1 it is possible to see GREAT EGRETS standing at their nests on High Bluff Island. The high count was 19 on 24 Apr.

The three blade prop that is on the boat is 26" diameter. I do not know the
pitch. Not able to find any markings.
A spare prop on the boat is a four blade marked 26 X 26.
At 1800 rpm the boat goes about 7 knots, this seems a bit slow.
What are the pros and cons of 3 blades versis 4 blades?
