I use the lists.samurai.com website as my primary means of viewing the list. I never read the digest before deleting it, and the only reason I recieve the digest at all is so that I can contribute to the list.

Hello to you all from Southland, New Zealand I am planning the construction of a very small motor vessel that is capable of making passages offshore. I've located the plans of a suitable design, 26' LOA, 23'LWL, 9000lbs Displacment, with auxilary sailing rig.

While neither a world cruiser nor a money launderer, we did rely on tracnet while doing the loop this year for 9 months and yes, it is expensive (4000 minutes for $1000) but we ran a business with 26 employees on the west coast while doing payroll, human resources, accounts payable and all banking functions.

Supporting something like this as a chip is *not* at all easy. There are lots of in’s and outs to getting it to work. It was not designed with mass market implementation in mind. The modules are somewhat easier to support, but even there, not trivial. I’m happy we can get the modules (and the documentation) at all.
