From Mark Szantyr:
10/22/13 - Danielson -- about 1:30 PM; a Broad-winged Hawk in a glide
overhead and upon closer inspection, noted that the bird appeared all
dark below.  The bird was in a folded wing glide with tail folded but
what I could see of the ventral surface of the remiges looked to be
nearly as uniformly dark as the body of the bird.  I was expecting to
see some contrast there but did not.  The bird was certainly a
Broad-wing by size and shape.

From Keith Mueller:
10/22/13 - Middlefield, Lyman's Pond -- 4 Northern Pintails, 3 hens 1
juvenile drake.
Meriden, Bishop's Pond -- 5 Northern Shovelers and 1 hen Northern
Pintail, 1 drake European Wigeon.

From  Brain Kleinman:
10/22/13 - Bloomfield, Bloomfield High School -- 1 adult SNOW GOOSE
mixed in with 70 Canada Geese around 8:30 AM.

From Tina Green:
10/22/13 -  Westport, CT Audubon Tree Farm -- 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch
heard first and then seen.
Sherwood Island State Park -- 3 Vesper Sparrows near the model
airplane field together in a tight group.

From Ryan MacLean:
10/22/13 - Greenwich,. Greenwich Audubon -- juv White Crowned Sparrow.
Later, a Golden Eagle heading SW over the north side of the hawk watch
lawn. The bird appeared to be a juvenile.

From Jerry Connolly:
10/22/13 - Bauer Park Community Garden -- GRASSHOPPER SPARROW,
LINCOLN'S SPARROW, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, EASTERN MEADOWLARK.

From Patrick Comins:
10/22/13 - Southbury, Southbury Training School, Cassidy Road -- 2
Vesper Sparrows moving around between the brush piles on the east side
of the road.  Also several White-crowned Sparrows singing.  Later, on
a quick stop after work, 2-3 Vesper Sparrows.  The real highlight
though was my first ever look at a bobcat, which appeared to be
stalking sparrows.

From Kathy Van Der Aue:
10/22/13 - Fairfield, Old Dam Road, off Pine Creek Road,  Pine Creek
wetlands -- Brown Thrasher.

From Bill Banks:
10/22/13 - New Haven, Lighthouse Point Park -- 2 Eastern Meadowlarks.

From Patrice Favreau:
10/22/13 - Meriden, Bishops Pond -- 2:15 to 2:45 PM; 1 male
non-breeding plumage Eurasian Wigeon, 2 Northern Shovelers.  Among the
Canada Geese were 4 hanging together that were odd: pale body plumage,
speckled neck, pale (almost pinkish) bill with black tip. Maybe a mild
leucism?

From Katherine Kuckens:
10/22/13 - Windham Center -- After a quiet, warm afternoon in Windham
Center with not a bird in sight, suddenly at 4:30 there were many
birds and lots of singing in the tall old trees behind Windham Center
School. Including 1 Bay-breasted Warbler.
