Frank,

I can't speak for all insurance companies and I have never had a claim with
my company.  I know every year I checked with 5-8 companies trying to find a
better deal, but always came back to Boat US.  They cover all areas of the
great circle route.  But, and to me this was a big advantage, they allow you
to change your area of coverage.

As an example as I moved around the Great Circle Route I changed by area of
coverage (for no charge) and the rate for the policy changed accordingly.
In Florida it was $1400, then on the East Coast $900, on the Chesapeake
$800, once I got to the Hudson River it became Inland Coverage and dropped
to $600.  Only when I returned to salt water just above Mobile Alabama did I
revert back to the higher Florida rate almost 8 months later.  Overall for a
year it averaged about $900.
