If you have any thing you would like to have in the August newsletter
please send it to me by the picnic. My intent is to publish after the
picnic and include photos of the picnic.

For the picnic the society is proving all food and drink this year. Do
bring a chair to sit in.

The August MVUS meeting will be the annual picnic, measurement event and
election of officers. The normal monthly meeting at MCL will not be held in
August. The picnic will be on Saturday August 28 starting at about 11 AM at
Daun Yeagley's home (10 AM for setup). Daun's GPS and street address:

If you want any testing done, contact N8ZM at tholmes@woh.rr.com. He needs
to know what you want to test and the frequency range. Preamps, antennas,
power amps. SWR bridges, power supplies, meters, whatever. Just let Tom
know so we can have the right test gear available.

Adapters for anything other than N, PL259, or SMA would be helpful.
Anything up to 6 GHz is easy, above that advanced notice is definitely
needed.

MVUS Picnic - Saturday Aug 28 from 11 a.m. to ??:

A 432 MHz EME portable station will be set up at the MVUS Picnic at Daun Yeagley’s (N8ASB) QTH. We hope to be operational starting at about 9 a.m. until the moon sets at about 1 p.m.

Joe (WA8OGS) & Richard (WC8RK) will set up the portable station consisting of 4 home-brew 15 ele yagis (15LFA-JT, horizontal polarization), a home-brew power divider, an AGO Products preamp NF = 0.29 dB, az-el G-5500 rotor, Icom 9700, and Tajfun amp with 600 watts out. They will be using the WSJT digital modes.

setup and operation, and that someone will be making some decent
audio recordings of received signals as well.
