Chancellor of Two-Year Community College System Visits Trenholm State

President Sam Munnerlyn recently welcomed Dr. Mark A. Heinrich, Chancellor of the Department of Postsecondary Education, to the Patterson campus located on Troy Highway. Accompanying the chancellor on his visit was Frank Barners, Facilities Coordinator for the two-year college system. The chancellor visited several technical programs and talk with both instructors and students. "We were extremely pleased that Chancellor Heinrich took time out of his schedule to visit us during the busy legislative session. His visit truly demonstrates a personal commitment to the two-year college system and workforce development in the River Region. We discussed an array of issues relating to our needs here at the Patterson campus," said Sam Munnerlyn, president of Trenholm State Technical College.

The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) is governed by the State Board of Education and consists of 21 comprehensive community colleges and four technical colleges; Marion Military Institute, one of five junior military colleges in the nation, and an extensive workforce development initiatives, including the Alabama Technology Network (ATN).
