Hard top bridge enclosure

Last spring we purchased a 52' GB Europa and cruised her this summer. I
expected to replace the bimini and enclosure once we had a little experience
with her. Now is the time. I am seriously considering a hard top with EZ2CY
curtains on the front and sides and Strato-Glass roll-ups aft. This should
give me a nice open bridge feel.

My biggest concern what effect this extra weight will have. There are two
options, the first is a heavier and stronger top that can be walked on,
which requires more structure, verses the option of a lighter top and
structure that can't be walked on. Does anybody have any thoughts? I
installed Niads last winter and she is very stable.

For this price, I want to get it right from the start. I am considering
reconfiguring the windshields so that they don't splay out to port and
starboard at the front of the bridge. This will give cleaner lines and make
the side curtains hang more vertically. I have seen vents flaps above the
front windows on a lot of sport fishers and from my conversations with
owners they seem to like them. There are also lots of lighting options that
can be built into the top.

I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
