Good morning, all, I just wanted to confirm the board meeting schedule below, and also to let you know that the Literacy Leadership Awards event is now confirmed for October 4, 5:00-7:00 pm in Rayburn 2043. Regarding award nominees, we have received or will be receiving the following: - Nomination of Senator Thad Cochran (nominator: Deborah Kennedy / Key Words) - Nomination of Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (nominator: Judy Mortrude / CLASP) - Nomination of the Minnesota ATLAS program (nominator: Silja Kallenbach / World Ed) - Nomination of Dr. Stephen Reder (nominator: Michele Diecuch / ProLiteracy) We're also working on the nomination for the Nat'l Institute on Drug Abuse for their Easy to Read Drug Facts website. Further happy news: The Dollar General Foundation has generously agreed to underwrite the awards event for $2,000. I am working with ETS on possible support as well. We will be contracting with Washington Partners to manage the awards event (the executive cmte approved this expense). Finally, I have been in touch with staffers on the Hill regarding the introduction of resolutions recognizing AEFL Week, and we are moving forward on that.
