Need AGM Batteries

Morning All,

Just back from another wonderful 12 weeks in the Exumas, can't say enough
good about those islands!!

I'm needing to replace the 4, 8-D batteries that have grown old  & tired.
The current batteries are LifeLine 8-D's and I'm looking to  see if anybody
has a good supplier (and good luck)
for any brand of AGM 8-D's ??  Please don't tell me  about smaller,
lighter, more inexpensive batteries......I've been around long  enough to know
what I want, thanks!

We are going to be leaving Key Biscayne today to head to the Keys and  then
on up the west coast to Mobile, AL  After that we will head up the
Tenn-Tom and summer & fall on the Tennessee River.  Sure would be  great if someone
had a "cheap" battery supplier along the way.

Thanks to all,

Todd & Brenda Lanning

Turn around, you just passed my it. The last two times I've needed
batteries I found that DC Battery Specialists (dcbattery.com) in Miami,
FL had the best price and delivery. And that included the cost of
shipping to New England. In both cases, I was buying Lifeline 8D's.

No sure how much room you have, but I replaced four Lifeline 8D AGM batteries
with 12 Discover L-16 6-volt AGMs. I have mine wired for 24 volts (3 parallel
X 4 series) You can fit 3 of the L-16s in the same footprint as a single 8D s
o if you have the headroom you can fit 12 in the space used by the 4 8Ds. So
far I have had excellent results. The only thing that I would change is that
I would have used the 2 volt versions so that I could wire all 12 in series.

I replaced a couple of 8D AGM on the 70 footer I run back in december. I
made a few calls, DCBattery.com was competitive but i ended up getting them
from Hopkins Carter in the Grove.  I think DCBatt. was around $450/475
