Trawler Rankings

I  am in the market for a used 32-38' fiberglass trawler in the $100K or less
category but am having some difficulty in determining which manufacturers I
should place at the top of the list and which I should avoid.  On the
assumption that all other things are equal (quality of maintenance, year of
manufacture, electronics, etc.), which would rank as, say, the top 10 in terms
of overall quality, safety for coastal cruising, and resale?  I know that the
Grand Banks line enjoys a great reputation, but my budget limitation would
mean that all but the old ones (1970s) are out of the question.  Obviously
this leads to another question: How old is too old and should I look at
nothing built 20, 25 or whatever years ago?

I realize that there are so many variables that a concise answer is
impossible, but I know of nowhere else to go fo thoughts and suggestions than
you seasoned trawlerers!!!! Anything you have to offer will be much
appreciated.
