Its not all that easy when you are living aboard and cruising full time, such
as doing "the Loop".

... And I wish somebody could write on this list how easy it is. I've been
searching for a while, and it's not like adding 1 spoon of vinegar to 3
spoons of oil.

I can have a few 45 gallons of canola oil for 3,25 $ a gallon. Then what ?
What do I need to add ? In which proportion ?

Is there such an answer as A), B), C), D) for biodiesel ?

Let me know when you stop laughing.

Google: how to make biodiesel

Now to see it done, there's always YouTube. Guy does it in his kitchen
(think your galley) with a blender. And I thought it was Col. Mustard with a
pipe in the drawing room.

In all seriousness, a small city (Oakridge North) started a biodiesel plant
and provide peaking power to the grid. Right now they're powering half the
city and in a year or two they'll power half the county.

But this is probably not a project for the faint of chemistry background.

Although the diesel engine was invented to run on peanut oil. Rockefeller
bought it to make sure that wouldn't happen. He made them run on petroleum
products.

Most of the older (and newer) naturally aspirated diesels can, with some
tweaking, run on French fry fat.

Enjoy,
Bob
