Looking for a "non-spill" water dish for our dog. Any ideas?

We take a squarish Rubbermaid leftover storage dish that holds maybe 1.5
or 2 quarts and cut out the center portion of its lid, leaving about
1.5-2" of the outside all around the lid. In any seas, it sits securely
against a bulkhead on the non-skid in our small boat's cockpit, and
almost never spills unless we happen to kick it. Cheap and simple.

For our cats we keep a two gallon bucket (the kind that paint comes in a
hardware stores and that you can buy without the paint) on the boat deck
full of water. If it slops over a little, it doesn't matter (the deck
gets wet every time it rains, anyway). If the bucket doesn't fill
naturally with rain water, we fill it when we fill the water tanks and
in between if necessary. The cats think it's great, and seldom drink
from their little water bowl by their food (which we put out when we
feed them).
I suppose a dog could figure out how to use it! :-{)

Bailey the boat dog, uses a nylon folding travel bowl, same material as a duffle bag, folds flat when not in use, and can only spill if a human gets in the way. Found mine at a local dollar store. We use it in the boat, car, everywhere she travels...GEH

We stumbled across a non-spill bowl called a Buddy Bowl at a dog show
several years ago and swear by it. In fact, this post made me Google to see
if it was still available. I am glad it is. Here is one site:
http://store.worldpetstore.com/orbudbow.html You can turn it upside down
and water will not come out. It is stable and you fill it from the top like
an ordinary bowl. We have yet had a dog (or our old cat) not use it and we
joke that they like it because it reminds them of a toilet bowl. We
currently have a shaggy dog and it helps contain some of the "runoff" from
his beard. The one downside is that you have to pull it apart to clean it
occasionally and the lid may be the toughest Tupperware-style lid you have
ever wrestled with.
Usual disclaimers.
