Hi all,
It is interesting that when you poke into a ants hill you get more ants.
That is what Bills comment has done. I think we have all gotten away from
the fact that our type of boat is no longer new. Another thing is that our
list was trying to cover everything from smaller high speed day boats to
long range open ocean going cats. Unfortunately there are very few ocean
crossing cats out there.
If you don't enter in then do you expect others to carry the ball. I have
in several occasions said I was making a trip from point A to B and heard
nothing from people along the way that had cats. You could contact people
traveling off list to make contact. I love to talk cats with anyone and I
expect others are the same.
I would like to hear comments by how your cat handled and rides in a beam
sea. I understand that Domino had to deal with that condition just as I
did.
I know Brian will pop in on that one. Some people don't like four letter
words. Mast and sail. Now that might be just be for long range open
ocean
cruisers.
Wild Wind IV is in Port Angeles WA in the water. The plan for this year is
to go back to AK . I tried to find a place to leave the boat somewhere
around Bella Bella BC but could not so we opted to leave the boat for a
month in Ketchikan where the security is good and the rate I reasonable. In
late Aug. we will move the boat south to the San Francisco area and leave
it
there till after Christmas. In 2015 we will move the boat through the Canal
and on to FL and eventually back to Lake Superior.
Jim Meader, I think you are figuring a little high for the annual budget,
although I am a cheapskate cruiser and do almost all my own work. I get by
on about half that other than fuel.
It's great to see some life in the list again.

Dennis Thank You on my cost estimates
Having never made the trip from the Puget Sound area to San Francisco
what boat preparations will you make. I read that the passage has some
challenges to it base on swell size and overall water conditions. Your
thoughts are much appreciated.
also what are the things you find after leaving your boat for a few
months in a port. What things do you anticipate doing when you get
back. Thanks
