Monitoring system (was: Wi-fi camera)

There is an inexpensive way to provide remote video monitoring that
does not require special access through the marina firewall.  All that
is needed is a computer with one or more video cameras connected, and
remote access software.

I use a product called "Logmein Free" for remote access.  As the name
implies the cost is free and it requires no special firewall settings
to operate, only normal web browser access.  The software is reliabe,
easy to use and easy to configure.  The URL is:

https://secure.logmein.com/

The computer should be configured to boot up automatically after a
power failure.  A laptop is ideal because it provides automatic
battery backup.

You still have to connect your laptop to the internet, and that is where
the marina WiFi comes into play. If you have a method of connecting (an
air card, etc) that is independent of the marina's WiFi, then you're all
set. If not, then you must still use the marina WiFi and that is where
the issue of continuous use/access comes into play.

I have tried to do the same with an aircard and a Cradlepoint router.
Verizon only has ONE LTE card that they can assigned a static IP address on.
Sprint has several options but their service is slower at our marina.  I
have both cards aboard right now.
