The Huron Fringe Birding and Nature Festival has something for every birder and nature lover, with 80 outings offered over two 4 day weekends, from May 26 to May 29, and June 1 to June 4.
The Festival is based out of MacGregor Point Provincial Park on Lake Huron, near the town of Port Elgin in Bruce County. The Lake Huron shoreline fringe creates a corridor guiding migrant birds through the Park and up the Bruce Peninsula, an area that probably has the most nesting songbird species in southern Ontario. The most varieties of orchid, and butterfly species, and an overall incredible diversity of flora and fauna add to the richness of the events. Festival events are led by top birders from across Ontario, as well as Bruce and Grey County’s own local experts. Registration starts on February 1. With the popularity of the Festival and with outings being limited in size to 20 for birding hikes, 12 for botany, photography and other excursions, events book up early, and a number are full within the first few days of registration. Registering early would give you the most choice.
Our prices are economical because we have generous corporate sponsors that make us a festival bargain.
Check out our program on the website below, and see why we, in our biased way, think we rank with the best birding and nature festivals in North America. For the complete program, including prices, camping reservations, accommodations and food, check out the following websites.

Registration opened February 1. Some events filled the very first day, and others are near-capacity! However, spaces remain in a great selection of outings. Registering now would give you the most choice!
