Daniel and all:
We too thought the Select Comfort would be the answer. However, after
nearly 3 years, the reviews are mixed. I think it's fairly comfortable,
but my wife thinks it's not. We both find that it has a depression on
both sides and a lump in the middle and on the edges. If you pump it up
enough to get rid of that, then it's hard as a rock. If she bounds
energetically into bed, it propels me into the air. Carefully evaluate
the Select Comfort before buying it.

For pure entertainment value, shopping for a mattress for the boat and
asking the salesman, "can you fold it in  half" is almost worth the
agony.

Russ, out of curiosity, do you have the twin chamber Select Comfort?
What you describing sounds like perhaps you have the single chamber
version. I've never experienced the problems you describe, and mine is
only a double bed size.

Bob:
We have double chambers, queen size. It has a foam separator down the
middle and foam on the two sides.
