City of Tacoma Encourages Community Members to Think 'Beyond the Bin'

The City of Tacoma's Solid Waste Management team is excited to launch Beyond the Bin, a new series of free community reuse events happening every second and fourth Saturday, May through September 2025. The first event is this Saturday, May 10 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen Street).

Instead of sending your unwanted (but usable) items to the landfill, bring them to our Beyond the Bin collection events and give them a second life. Your donations will go to local nonprofit partners who repair, repurpose, and redistribute them back into the community, helping neighbors and reducing waste.

More details, including a full list of accepted items and event dates, are available at tacoma.gov/beyondthebin.http://www.tacoma.gov/beyondthebin
