the east of the picnic tabes and the Cedar Island trail with the
Loscalzos at about 9:00 this morning. Greg Hanisek was kind enough to
point us in the right direction.

06/29/14 - Guilford, Shell Beach marsh -- 1 TRICOLORED HERON, 1 adult
Little Blue Heron, 22 Great Egrets, 54 Snowy Egrets, 38 Glossy Ibis.
(Some unusual amounts in that list.)
Sachem Head marsh -- 20 Snowy Egrets.
Madison, Hammonasset Beach SP -- WHITE-FACED IBIS with c. 6 Glossy
Ibis in Meigs Point marsh 8 AM, TRICOLORED HERON X LITTLE BLUE HERON
very cooperative as usual in Boulder Pond. Spent about an hour on the
platform looking for Roseate Tern without success.

06/29/14 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach SP -- The WHITE-FACED IBIS
continued as of 1:30 PM. It was foraging in the marsh to the east of
the Willard's Island parking lot. The bird was viewed from the short
stretch of blacktop between the nature center parking lot and
Willard's Island lot, south of the brown dumpster.

06/29/14 - Westbrook, Duck Island, in the LI Sound ~1/4 mile beyond
the mouth of the Menunketesuck River -- One adult TRICOLORED HERON.
The heron flew from the middle of the island where the nests are and
landed on a small tree at the edge of the island. There were 4-5
Little Blue Herons flying to and from the island. All observations
were made from kayaks, a few yards from the east shore of the island.
The island is off-limits during the breeding season.
