Absolutely and  always been a source of wonder watching people who don’t understand that basic tenet of seamanship. I have been using the rub rails in my KK42 (hull #5) for 24 years. Pilings make single screw boat handing a breeze. Glad you posted this. Maybe some will learn from it.

I have the best of both worlds, a floating dock to step off the rear and pilings on both sides.
