Peregrines

I have found the discussion of the Peregrines fascinating and I always
appreciate reading the history of different species. As a beginner birder, may I
ask what is a
"peregrine hacking tower". It doesn't sound very nice.
In my humble opinion as a beginner birder, I think that it is humankind's
obligation to assist in the reintroduction of any species (birds, mammals
etc)that humankind has been responsible for eradicating. I feel that is our
responsibility if at all possible.
I understand that scientifically there are differing opinions.

I truly believe in the saying "An ounce of medicine may cure a lifetime of
disease" Stop the destruction of our open space, take care of it now and the
people will benefit from that for generations too come! If we continue at
the pace of causing extinction of so many species, there won't be a moment
in the future where humans will be able to experience these things again!

They are part of the process for releasing captive raised birds back to the wild. From the aviary, the young birds are brought to the tower and fed for a while. Eventually, they open the tower up reduce feedings and "hack" them of their human dependence. There used to be several of them down at Brigantine in NJ, at least one of which was used by Barn Owls for nesting.
