TRIMBLE NETRS

Thank you all so much for your cooperation.
I'm trying various things to get NetRS to work properly, but nothing yet.
At this point, it's clear that the CF card is faulty.
No rush, but if anyone can make a copy of the CF card and post it on Google
Drive, I think that's my last chance to get it working.

Thanks
Mauri

Hi

The Trimble NetRS is a late 1990’s design. It does not have any sort of
battery in it.
Pretty much everything is saved to a single CF memory card. All of the
logged data
is written to that card.

The “big deal” of the NetRS is that it will lock to an external 10 MHz
input. This lets
you log RINEX files that reflect the time derived from that clock. When
the RINEX is
processed, you can extract local time information as a result.

They often got used as “base stations” for various sorts of GPS survey
stuff. That
ment they might be logging files 24 hours a day for quite a while.
Combine that
with the early CF technology.  It did not make for a “many decades” sort
of reliability.
The cards die and need to be replaced.

The main downside is that they do not have a sawtooth corrected PPS
output. They
also need an external “dongle” to be able to connect to ethernet. In some
cases that dongle
sells for more than the NetRS. There is info out there to “roll your own”
dongle.

Depending on which file you are trying to download from Unavco, there
might be various
issues. The ones I looked at simply did not exist anymore. The link being
used pointed
to a server that no longer exists. That’s not a big deal since the file I
found would not be of any
help in this case.

I can't download the .img file. I tried FileZilla, WinScp, and Sea

Monkey.

Have any of you managed to download it? Is it still available?
As for the lithium battery, I don't know if it's inside, but I'll have to
open it to check.

Does the NetRS have an internal lithium battery, and if it does, is

yours

still good?

Good morning everyone.
I wanted to ask you some questions. I have a Trimble Netrs receiver. I
connect to the serial port to set a static IP address. Everything seems

to

be working fine, but in the end, the IP address remains set to DHCP

and I

can't change it. Can anyone help me?
Thanks everyone.
Mauri
