Dear CollectionSpace Community,
The CollectionSpace Leadership Working Group held our 1st quarterly meeting for FY2017-18 on Sept 21st, 2017. I am sharing our regular update with the membership.
The working group members discussed a variety of topics including:
Welcome
Following our successful elections, we were pleased to welcome new Leadership Working Group members:
- Chris Hoffman, University of California, Berkeley
- Anthony Radich, WESTAF
Outreach Efforts
I am very happy to report that the CollectionSpace program continues to grow. As of September, there are 15 members across the six membership levels, close to thirty implementations, and four active Registered Service Providers.

Partnerships
Ann Whiteside and Anthony Radich provided overviews of their profile development:
- The Harvard University Graduate School of Design and Rhode Island School of Design, partners in development of a new profile and consortium designed to improve management of design materials collections, continued their outreach through the spring, attending four conferences and providing CollectionSpace demos to several organizations. The consortium expects to add several new members by the end of the year.
- The Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) has begun work on a profile to support public art collections, and the program team is looking forward to contributing to their efforts.
Operational updates
We were pleased to hear that technical development is on track. Our updated user interface code, due early next year as part of our Version 5.0 release, will result in a faster, cleaner, and more responsive interface. The new framework is well-documented and supported, giving our community developers a much easier path to add new features and functionality to the application.
The working group extends its thanks to all of you for your continuing support and ongoing contributions to the great community we are building.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Respectfully,
Ann Whiteside
