But my daughter & me were talking about red squirrels yesterday. Way back in '67 when my folks bought the house in New Britain we had some red squirrels but they disappeared in the early '70's. Is there anyplace in CT where red squirrels are still found?

I can still see occasional red squirrels in my backyard.

Bob, they are still common here in NW CT. While I am not aware of any surveys, there happen to be lower numbers right in my immediate neighborhood. I could only speculate that last winter was difficult for them, though apparently not so for Grey Squirrels.
