Hope you are doing well! Please join me in welcoming a new member to the
Song Yuan listserv, Dr. Qin Yang. Below please find her self
introduction. Welcome, Dr. Yang!
Qin Yang is a post-doctoral research associate in the Classics and
Archaeology Department of the University of Nottingham. Qin has just
submitted her doctoral thesis 'Visual Forms of Canonical Interpretation
in Song China (960-1279)' (Australian National University, 2022). Her
research topics include pictorial forms of Confucian classical
commentaries, Chan Buddhist records, and anecdotal religious records in
Song China.
Qin worked from 2007 to 2015 as a research assistant in the Program of
Religion, Art, and History in East Asia at the National Institute for
Advanced Humanistic Studies, Fudan University. Before that, she was
trained in Economics and Business Management from 2000 to 2006 at
Nanjing University of Posts and Communications and Shanghai University
of Science and Technology, respectively.
