In a leisurely walk with my husband Murray at Britannia from 9:30 to 12 today, we had 21 species of Warblers including Blackpoll, Bay-breasted, Cape May, Canada, Parula and Blackburnian.

Directions:
THE BRITANNIA CONSERVATION AREA is located along Cassels Road, east off the south end of Britannia Road.  Access to Britannia Rd. is off Carling Avenue. (NOTE: a good description of the Britannia - Andrew Haydon Park "birding strip" is in the June 2000 volume of OFO News; it is also on the Ottawa Field-Naturalists' Club Website http://home.achilles.net/ofnc/index.html as well as the Ontario Birding Website)

Bev.

LTNS. Have you and Mike given any thought to chasing that Tropical Kingbird
near Rondeau?  If you can, I would were I you. It's not a bird likely to
ever re-appear in a lifetime. I went for it on Tuesday and had crippling
views of it for as long as I wanted. I finally just left after an hour of
looking at it with it still showing in full view. UNBELIEVABLE BIRD!!.

As far as I know, it's still there and now looks as if it might very well be
for the weekend. If you can, don't let this one get away on you. It's being
considered to be at least as good a bird as the Sulpher-belly of 16 years
ago and possibly as good as the Variegated Flycatcher at Toronto some 10
years ago.

I also was lucky enough to see that Brown Pelican that was found at Hamilton
2 weeks ago. Two new Ontario birds in 3 weeks. It just doesn't get any
better than this!

Go for it Bev!!

Terry

Please let me know if this e-mail address is still a good one please.
