Hi Folks
I have been watching the flow of records of Pine Siskins. For the
past week or so Most of the records have been 2 to 3 birds at a time.
Does any one have any flocks of 10 or more around? Are these small
groups nesting pairs with young?
Records of 10 or more Pine Siskins seen at one time.

Dennis and all. I haven't reported them lately but Carol and I just counted about 50 siskins. They are not at the feeders all day any more and are feeding more heavily in the mornings and then sporadically later on. We still see siskins on our walks in the woods out back in addition to our yard at the feeders. These guys are still going through several pounds of nyjer a day. With all the noise and birds we haven't noticed any nesting behavior but I suspect they might not want to nest where so many birds are still congregating.
