Dear NCL Board,
I need a decision from you on whether to re-up our membership in CEF for 2021. The cost is $1,000, which is a substantial portion of a $15,100 annual budget. We do receive useful intel from them on what's happening on the Hill, however.

with Hill meetings and Twitter chats this week alone â and we have plans for much more. Weâre tracking, analyzing, and explaining Congressional and Administration actions that impact education funding. Weâre providing briefings and bringing in the key Congressional

I am in favor of continuing the relationship for the purposes of intel and
because we now have a working mechanism (aka Michele D) for sorting through
the daily (or more) emails to cull useful info for the NCL membership.

If none of your information has changed since 2020 and you want us to use your form from last year, just let us know to do that. Weâll send an invoice for the dues once we get your renewal. The deadline for renewing is February 12.

Iâm circling back with a reminder that CEF membership renewals for 2021 are due next Friday, February 12, and we havenât yet received yours. As you have seen, weâve already started our advocacy to increase federal education funding with Hill meetings and Twitter chats this week alone â and we have plans for much more. Weâre tracking, analyzing, and explaining Congressional and Administration actions that impact education funding. Weâre providing briefings and bringing in the key Congressional Committee staff to talk to our Friday morning meetings. We have plans for outreach to the new Administration and to Congress in the near future. I hope you will be a part of it!

Weâre trying to prepare for greater advocacy for education (we have the staff of the House Education and Labor Committee talking to CEF on Friday morning about their agenda for the year) while reaching out to our community of friends (join us for the CEF Zoom happy hour on Thursday from 5-6pm ET!). Weâll get through this.
Iâm writing today to follow up on the emails sent to everyone on December 8 or 9 with information about renewing your membership in CEF for 2021. You havenât yet indicated whether you plan to renew â and we hope that you will! Weâve got lots of plans and want to speak with as strong a voice as possible on behalf of greater federal education investments.
