Check out the North East River Yacht Club. www.NERYC.com  Not sure what
you have in mind for facilities but they have brand new flooting docks,
power, water, resturant, showers, pump out and are fairly close to town
for groceries and laundry.  While it might be about an hour off the
route, it is quite, friendly and peaceful.

To all Loopers;

Am looking for a marina to stay, which has facilities around the
beginning of the C&D canal from the Chesapeake approaching Cape May, New
Jersey. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rather than go all the way up the North East River (off the head of
the Chesapeake Bay at Turkey Point) you might as well go up the
Sassafras River to the Sassafras Harbor Marina at Georgetown, MD.  We
have a great marine store, a deli restaurant with a 5 star chef, 5
floating docks, the Granary Restaurant within walking distance and
Ottwells Grocery store which will come and get you to do your grocery
shopping.

For a list of marinas organized by rivers on the Chesapeake Bay go to
the D/5 USPS website and click on the river name:  <www.uspsd5.org/
local_marinas_map.html>

And, if you are here on a Friday through Sunday or Monday mornings,
the Two J's (Slip E-26) will take you to where ever you need to go -
liquor warehouse, drug store, hardware store, etc.

Sassafras Harbor Marina Telephone:  Susan Howard, mgr. 410-275-1144.
