While checking around the engine room, i noticed the ford lehman is
almost touching the hull. The boat is a Island Trader made by Marine
Trader. The engine is perched in the top of a well almost like a bath tub
i guess you could say.The engine mounts are on the edge of the tub.The
mounts seem tight and no evidence of past movement.Im wondering if the mounts could be compressed beyond there usable life.I can slip a piece of cardboard between the engine and hull but that is all the room there is.The boat is a 1985. Do mounts wear out at that time interval or is there more to the story.I bought the boat about eight months ago and possibly this mount problem isnt a problem at all.Ive never seen
another to compare . Steve

If the mounts sagged a great amount the engine would be out of line and
there would probably be some vibration.
