War Memorial Park | 7314 North Skyview PlaceTacoma
On our daily commute or walk through Tacoma, what are we overlooking? What
small pockets of nature and less common plants are easily missed as we go
about our busy lives in a constantly changing landscape? Join our tree walk
at War Memorial Park to take another look at the city, and notice the
little things that we ordinarily pass by without second thought, like black
tupelo and other amazing plants! We’ll contemplate how we live and interact
with our environment while surrounded by the busyness of the highways and
traffic that dominate our urban habitat. Slow down to notice trees and
species that don’t ordinarily stand out.
Our walks happen rain or shine so come prepared with the appropriate
clothing to have the best walk experience. We’ll be walking on a paved path
and sidewalk. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
This program is possible thanks to Tacoma Creates
