Place offers the following FREE art workshop: ART
MAKES ME SMART: Showcasing the applications of math & science with art
(Sponsored by Comcast). All art supplies are provided and the workshops will be
taught by young professional artists.

  1. Eco Flowers - with Suni Cook

Participants will learn how to make beautiful flowers from recycled materials. Number
of participants allowed: 25

  1. Rip Art with Suni Cook

Participants will glue pieces of recycled paper onto a design on the wall to
form a unified design. Number of participants allowed: unlimited

  1. Mosaic stepping stone - with Jada Moon

In this class students will be able to make an original mosaic work of art.

Number of participants allowed: 12

  1. Tie-Dye - with Jada Moon

In this class students will choose from a number of items to be tie-dyed.

Number of participants allowed: 12

  1. Alexander Calder's Mobiles: A Balancing Act – with Voxxy

Participants will create figures out of wire. American sculptor and artist most
famous for inventing the mobile. Calder was trained as an engineer and his
work, which inspired this class, uses complex intuitive and logical thinking in
the design of Art Mobiles. This class is a "suitcase" project on loan
from Seattle Art Museum. For more information about

Afterwards, be sure to attend the ART MAKES ME SMART SHOWCASE Tuesday,
December 15th, 6 pm at The HUB Reception Room 203 Tacoma Avenue South,
