[Ontbirds] Reesor Pond Duckwatch

11.10.14 - 9am - small tight-knit flocks of duck species :  3 Ring-necked - 5 American Wigeon - 7 Green-winged Teal - 8 Black  - 10 Redheaded - 19 Ruddy - lots of Mallards - PLUS 1 Wilson's Snipe - 1 GBH - 11 American Coots - 2 Pied-billed Grebes - ALSO during this past week 2 Buffleheads - 3 Wood Ducks - 2 common Mergansers - 1 Pectoral Sandpiper - 9 Greater Yellowlegs  - Double-crested Cormorants and 100's of Canada Geese - high water levels continue to put a damper on shorebird sightings - Reesor Pond lies just north of Hwy 407 on Reesor Road in Markham -

Hi Ontbirders,

Just to follow-up on Stan's note, I had much of what Stan reports (though didn't have any shorebirds) plus there were 2 female Northern Pintail & 4 Cackling Geese yesterday afternoon, 2 in the far NW corner (near the stream) and 2 mixed in with the Canadas just south of the NW spit where the bulk of the Canadas were.  Many of the Canadas were intermediate sized (some quite small so be careful when looking them over as they were close to Cackling sized) along with the giant ones.
