Okay, I've heard you loud and clear. Insofar as anchors are concerned,
bigger is better.
And, since I asked for your advice I'm going to follow it.
Because of the configuration of my double side-by-side bow rollers, the
Bruce design won't fit. Rather than start mucking about trying to adapt or
replace it, I'm leaning to a CQR which I believe will work on the rollers
as they now are.
As noted, the CQR spec for my 41 ft, 15 tonner, is 35 lbs. Several of you
have said go up one size to a 45. However, my aggressive search has turned
up a true real deal, a 60lb genuine CQR that was so little used I thought
it was new, and which is available for the price of the 35.
Is there such a thing as too much anchor, or should I grab it and run? Or
stagger, more likely...
Cheers, Garrett

Garrett and other anchor researchers: Try and get a copy of
"Practical Sailor's" buying guide for 2000. They did some extensive
anchor evaluations - quite an eye opener!
