Jeepers, John!!!!

For eastern Canadians, the truth is - honest, cross-my-heart, sincerely
hope not-to-die - it's (still) raining here in Victoria. Poured all day
yesterday, drizzle today. The daffodil pickers are getting soaked.
Fields have become lakes. The reservoir, which was so empty last summer
that water restrictions were imposed for 8 months, has been over-flowing
since January. That guy cutting his grass is just an eccentric in
denial.

Think of the awesome beauty of those sunny winter days in the rest of
Canada.

You wouldn't like it out here. Really. It's awful. Don't build the
bridge...

Cheers, Garrett

Avast!

I want to second what Garrett says. We live about 25 miles south of him in
"sunny" Sequim, WA and it's been raining pretty much all week. We had a
break on Tuesday which was good since our marina reassigned us to a new slip
and we had to move the boat about 100'. This year though, that has been the
exception rather than the rule. As I write this the creek in our backyard in
on the verge of flooding as are several others in the area. Peabody creek in
Port Angeles is so high and muddy that it's threatening to pollute the water
source for the Fiero Marine Life Center (a sort of aquarium) which is
located near it's mouth.

I did mow my lawn a couple of weeks ago but that was just to do a final
clean-up after picking up all the tree limbs that had blown down in the
recent windstorm.

In short, this is a nice place to visit (Bring Money!) but you wouldn't want
to live here <G>

Damply yours,

Alex

In La Conner, second lawn mow was last week.
Fields full of daffodils up about six inches.... and very large pools of
water. Every creek and river from here to Vancouver was close to overflow.
Avalanche warnings abound because of rain on very deep piles of snow.
Garrett's stern rail is safe today.
