We have MapTech charts on our plotter but it does not have charts for this
length of the loop.  Are there charts for this area available, and what is  the
best way to acquire them.

Boat is currently parked in Seneca til 10-1 when we will resume trip  south.

Thanks..

As regards the inquiry below, I believe that you want to get the BSB/KAP
charts that run on Maptech.  If you go to:
http://tinyurl.com/yong77
You will find they have a CD with US Boating Charts with Tides and Currents,
and while this CD will likely duplicate a lot of what you already have, for
the $99 cost you will have the Tennessee River charts and also the Tenn-Tom
Charts all the way to Mobile bay.

I would caution you that while they are very useful, they are NOT as
accurate as NOAA charts.  I have them, as does my buddy in the next slip,
and you will find that as you go right down the middle of the river, that
the chartplot will show the track cutting right across some of the land from
time to time.  So, don't try to navigate at night by chartplot alone.  It is
not the GPS or the Chartplotter or software that is at fault, it is the maps
themselves.  They are rather old, and done prior to global satellite
imaging.  Still very worthwhile, but again not as accurate or up to date (on
ATONS, marinas, etc.) as they could be.

Have a great trip.  We will be starting the loop in Jan 08 from here near
Knoxville, TN.
