Position Opening: Database and Development Support Specialist
Symphony Tacoma is looking for candidates interested in applying for a part-time position in the office, Database and Development Support Specialist.
The Database and Development Support Specialist position offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in fundraising, event planning and office administration in a non-profit environment. If you have some experience in office administration and a comfort level with computers, data entry and maintenance, we invite you to apply. The position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with and supports other staff members. Specific Duties:
Database Management - Maintain the donor and patron database with a high degree of accuracy. Work with Finance Manager on financial reconciliations between database and accounting software. Generate mailing lists and coordinate mailing of donor appeals and acknowledgment letters, ticket sales reports, and data entry.
Patron Services and Box Office Liaison - Oversee and record all ticket sales, liaison with Box Office staff; Coordinate ticket promotions, discounts and gifts to pre-arranged discount groups.
Office Management - Inventory and order office supplies, maintain office equipment, answer and route incoming calls, prepare daily bank deposits, maintain electronic and paper records.
Executive Director Support - Assist in communication with major donors, board members and key volunteers, screening calls, preparing meeting materials, minutes and setting up meeting rooms. Maintain excellent, professional relationship with donors, patrons, committee members and board members.
Event Support - Serve as a primary registrar for annual Gala, Music Mixers, and other events. Manage and coordinate mailing and receipt of donated items for fundraisers in auction software. Manage guest information, seating and communications. Oversee and manage data entry and event setup requirements.
Desired Skills:
High level of organization and attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time
Ability to interact well with donors and patrons in person, through email and over the phone
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
Competent writing and proofreading skills
Database (CRM) management experience highly desirable
Self-starter, ability to work independently but also collaboratively in a small, fast-paced environment
Sense of humor and ability to get along with and enjoy working with many types of people
Bachelor's degree in an arts or non-profit field
Knowledge of classical music a plus
